It's an age-old question: why? Why do certain things happen? Why is someone the way they are? Why did they do that one action? Why is the world how it is?
Why? Why? Why?
I dare you to try and count how many times you say this in a day. How about an hour? Or, if you're a particularly curious person (which I admit I fall into that category more than half of the time), try counting how many times you say it in fifteen minutes?
How about how many times you think this word. Better yet, not that word, but what it signifies...the innate sense of wanting to know something.
Why?
Yes this seems quite the dead horse to beat at...but why? What makes us such curious creatures? What are the reasons we always ask why? Do we really need to? Why not simply wait for answers to come instead of searching them out? Why do we bother? Why put ourselves through the rigor of wanting to know?
Why?
Why do we ask why?
If there is anyone who thinks they know an answer to this, I'd love to hear it. Until then, this is yet another ponder of mine, one of those mysteries I think we will never truly find out the 'why' of.
Why?

Hail The Messenger!
Does it matter where we get our information from? Is there only a certain source you will believe, no matter what, because...well...it's such-and-such and you like them?
Here's a thought for the day: step outside your information comfort zone. Get the bigger picture, as much as you can. Talk to anyone (without being rude about it). Get opinions, comments, thoughts, and ideas from other people or other source.
The result: I am 99.9% sure you will have a slightly different story than what you thought you knew.
Reason for doing this: Each source, whether intentional or not, has a bias of their own that they filter the information through that they pass along. Maybe it's a bias you stand with, maybe not. Either way, if you're one of those people like me who cares more about hard facts and the truth rather then loyalty to an information source, you need to broaden your horizons. Think outside boxes, reach for the hidden, dig for what really happened.

Quote of Wednesday
“The people must be the ones to win, not the war, because war has nothing to do with humanity. War is something inhuman.” — Zlata Filipović
Is war truly inhuman? Is it something that would come about whether humans lived or not?
My interpretation of this quote: War is something brought about by people, it does not spontaneously happen. It is an action the result of many actions and choices, and since we don't exactly see animals going about starting wars (territorial dominance yes, but not full out massacre. Although if I am wrong, I'm quite interested in learning more about warring animals. That's an intriguing thought.) it is safe to conclude that people are the only ones who can bring about or end wars.
War is not living thing. It is personified as a beast, a terrible monster that ravages the land and rips apart humanity, but it is not alive. It is a collection of actions, and therefore, as the quote says above, inhuman.
Your thoughts?
Every Wednesday I will discuss a quote, either political or fictional, philosophical or ridiculous.

Got To Start Somewhere I Suppose
I should probably start off with some explaining, shouldn't I? After all that's what a first post is for: introductions, brief biography, and overall a bit of "hey look at me I'm new yay!"
Nah. I'm good.
Here's all you need to know: I like a lot of things and I think about those things a lot. So, I decided to write a blog to put those thoughts where people can read them. Might be a bit of a dangerous idea, but oh well. Follow at your own risk.
What do I like, you might be asking? Hmm, like I said, lots of things. Things such as movies to books to bookish movies, chocolate, stories about chocolate, the color cerulean, the idiocy people can have, the amazing faces of famous people (and their skills), and so on.
I repeat; lots of things.
So that's pretty much it. This is a place for my random thoughts and if you care to read that sort of stuff, do whatever follow stuff enables that. Me? I'm just going to write.
Ta!
